Several European Visa Centers in the UAE Remain Closed

Dubai / Abu Dhabi — Several European visa application centres in the United Arab Emirates remain closed as a precaution due to the current situation in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, affecting applicants planning travel to Europe.

Visa service centres operated by companies such as VFS Global and BLS International in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have temporarily suspended regular visa application services, citing safety and operational considerations. The closures have disrupted scheduled appointments for residents seeking visas to various European destinations.

In notices issued to applicants, the centres stated that normal visa submission services will remain suspended until further notice. At this time, the Visa Application Centre will operate solely for passport returns, with applicants who previously submitted their documents being notified via phone, email, or SMS to collect their passports and await further updates on the resumption of visa application services.

The affected centres handle applications for Schengen visas, which allow short-term travel to multiple European countries. While some embassies and consulates continue to process applications already submitted, new visa appointments have been temporarily halted.

Authorities have encouraged applicants to monitor official announcements from visa service providers for updates on when normal services will resume.
